Grundvig – Advice and Guidance |

We provide advice and guidance to help learners to plan their way forward and to find the appropriate qualification. We also help with job search and interview techniques. We provide advice and guidance workshops which are called “Grundtvig Workshops” to build confidence develop skills, raise awareness about gender issues and recognise strengths and weakness.
The aim of the workshops is to: • Increase capacity to play a full and active role in society and develop inter-cultural awareness; • Improve employability by acquiring or updating general skills, • Enhance capacity to access or re-enter formal education schemes, • Become awareness of personal life and resources • Build confidence • Develop new skills • Become aware of gender issues
The Grundtvig Project was created by a Danish philosopher to promote a policy of lifelong learning at European level as well as in each of the participating countries.
First step became involved because: • The project was European • It focussed on developing good practice • It supported guidance procedures in non main stream adult education • To conduct research about service user’s feelings on guidance and counselling • To research into an improved guidance methodology.
Methods Used for this Workshop: • The method is an Autobiographical method (Coat Hanger Method) • The focus is on life experience • The emphasis is on learning paths • Transformation and expression is on oneself through narration • Creative Writing • Art work • Self Awareness exercises • Skills Analysis exercises • Gender Awareness sessions
The outcome of the Project: • Increased confidence to share experiences by focusing on the past, present and future life. • Skills Analysis • Self Awareness • SWOT Analysis • Action plan for future.
